Student-Led Candidate Forum, LAUSD Board District 5
United Way of Greater Los Angeles is seeking volunteers to assist with our Student-Led Candidate Forums for LAUSD Board District 5.
The purpose of the Forum is to allow students to engage Board District 5 candidates on a wide range of education issues that affect students, parents, educators, and community members. In addition to the Forum, there will be a College Readiness Resource Fair and a Scholarship giveaway!
Volunteers will be paired with a Young Civic Leader student to assist with attendee management, food & beverage distribution, audience question collecting, student survey handling and more!
**United Way's Young Civic Leaders Program empowers student leaders to speak out on social justice and education issues, becoming catalysts for change as they fight for the resources needed to prepare for college and sustainable careers.
**LAUSD Board District 5 includes:
Atwater, Bell, City Terrace, Cudahy, Eagle Rock, East Hollywood, Echo Park, El Sereno, Glassell Park, Herman, Highland Park, Huntington Park, Los Feliz, Maywood, Mount Washington, Silver Lake, South Gate, Vernon, Walnut Park
