VITA Volunteer Training
Every year, thousands of working families in Los Angeles leave millions of dollars on the table by not claiming their full tax return. United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program trains volunteers like you to help those with a household income of less than $56,000 a year to get their full tax return. In 2018, our volunteers helped to put an extra $1.3M back into the pockets of working families in Los Angeles County.
Sign up today to become a VITA Tax Preparer!
You'll attend a one-day training on tax prep basics and get certified to volunteer at VITA tax prep events across Los Angeles County from February through April. Each hour you volunteer in the community puts nearly $6,000 back into the pockets of a fellow Angeleno.
The 1/12 - 2/3 Trainings take place at the United Way offices in Downtown Los Angeles. The 2/16 Training takes place at Pepperdine University in Malibu.
